Cranberry Sauce
For those who like things sweet + tart + smokey + spicy, this is my favorite cranberry sauce recipe (yes, it's my favorite part of the meal):
Ingredients
- A bag of cranberries
- Fresh Ginger
- A shallot
- Brown Sugar
- Whiskey
- Real Maple Syrup
- An orange (for zest)
In a sauce pan, sauté the shallot and some fresh ginger, throw in the cranberries, two big spoonfuls of brown sugar, a splash of whiskey, a splash of maple syrup, and the zest from one orange. Cook until it's slightly runny jam consistency.
